Shining Sea Bike Path
Catherine has logged many miles on this beloved trail. One of Richie’s first trips to the cape included a bike ride to Scraggy Neck where the family was caught in a downpour - a perfect initiation!
-
Old Silver Beach
If you are looking to catch some rays over the weekend, old silver beach is the perfect oasis. On a clear day, you can see straight across the bay to Marion & Mattapoisett. See if you can spot the notable landmark on the horizon- Cleveland Ledge Lighthouse, which marks the shipping channel in Buzzards Bay.
-
The Knob at Quissett Harbor
In the mood for some light hiking? The Knob is a magical peninsula that stretches out into Buzzards Bay with Quissett Harbor to the east surrounded by 12 acres of wooded area. Catherine used to sail an opti out of this harbor during a local regatta.
Drinks & Restaurants
-
Treehouse Brewing Company
Richie ALWAYS makes a stop to this brewery once he crosses the bridge because it wouldn’t be a trip to the cape without a fridge full of Treehouse! Try a Julius, Richie’s favorite IPA.
-
The Chart Room
This lively seafood spot has a great view of the harbor but more importantly, the best mudslides in town. You may never leave!
-
Somerset Creamery
Craving something sweet? This is the best homemade ice cream. Catherine’s favorite flavor is mint chip. Can you guess Richie’s… vanilla!
